The business of printing in Nigeria is set to undergo a significant revolution as Skysat Technologies partners with Konica Minolta to introduce the latest technology in digital printing to the country.

Addressing a press conference in Lagos, the representatives of both companies shed light on the vision behind the partnership and the  benefits it will bring to the country’s economy.

 Describing the technology as very reliable and modern, the Managing Director, SkySat Technologies, Mr Izzat Debs, said that the machine, which is a fusion of both German and Japanese technology, ran practically error-free.

 “We also offer customer training and provide all necessary spares and consumable for smooth running. Another major advantage for Konica Minolta users is that we will grant them access to a world-class, web-based training programm called M-Plus.

“We are also bringing together aspiring entrepreneurs in the digital printing business to train and equip them with the skills to successfully run a digital commercial print shop. This initiative is our contribution towards reducing the alarming rate of employment rate and empowering the nation’s youths,” he said.

In his own remarks, the Business Support Manager, Africa, Konica Minolta, Mr Michael Hans Mier, noted that his company, through the new machine, would be  helping to check the scourge of capital flight, occasioned by off-shore printing of some high-profile jobs.

“Not only does printing overseas come at a high cost to local businesses, but it also amounts to a loss of business for hard working Nigerians,’ he added.

He noted that with Konica Minolta’s award-winning technology – BLI awards for PRESS C8000, C7000 and PRO 1200, and with Skysat’s highly trained sales and technical team, Konica Minolta would be able to provide the solutions for the country’s print demands.
